Hello, I'm Ana
I'm a project manager, a parent, and an expat based in Lisbon, Portugal.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to Portugal wasn't part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it started as a work opportunity and soon grew into something much larger.
The initial months were arduous — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complex than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and started building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Dot Liju Lew Yohac Col
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or just surface tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Portugal.
What This Website Represents (And What It Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical insights gained from living in Portugal
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated only when something truly changes
This site is not:
- Not an official tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel diary
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Portugal goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I will continue recording what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, feel free to get in touch.
Best regards,
Ana
